About
Gassan holds a Master in architecture from the Lebanese University and has accumulated almost 15 years of international Project Management experience. Moving to Canada in 2010 was an opportunity exploring local culture, challenges and issues. After completing his MBA in Management Consulting he switched to public servicing - joining local NGOs, provincial and federal political parties. Concerned about local challenges and society's needs, he ran for 2017th Montreal municipal elections. That was a unique opportunity liaising and reaching out to the local community (98% non-Arab), related governing departments and institutions. During 2018 provincial elections, he served as Deputy Returning Officer. In 2019 Federal elections, he represented and facilitated dialogue among federal candidates, exploring common ground and potential collaboration. Moreover, as NGO delegate to the Parliament (2018-2019), he met and discussed position papers with numerous Members of Parliament, Senators and policy makers. In 2019, he attended UN immersion programme in Geneva. Earlier this year (2021), Gassan was nominated Diversity Leadership Ambassador, under a program, funded by Ministry of Immgration, shedding light on minorities at NGO Board of Directors, and inspiring others to take the lead. Gassan looks forward contributing in building a better united strong Lebanon.
